Then I was fertilised and became wise
I truly grew and thrived
From a word to a word I was led to a word,
From a work to a work I was led to a work
The Words above are attributed to Woden when he first took the runes into his possession, after his self imposed ordeal on Yggdrasil. Woden was relentless in his search for wisdom and upon gaining knowledge of the Runes this hunger only grew.
In my personal quest for knowledge, I too was captured by the symbols and words of my forebears. I was lead from one to another, from Goddess to God. Words themselves took on mystical form. Such was the perfection of their construction, they almost appear as living beings with their own free will. Without any knowledge of the ancient myths, a man dedicated to understanding even a single word, could find within it whole mythologies.
Cut off from their roots our people wonder from one fad to another, be it exotic spiritual beliefs or escapist entertainment. Mimirs brunnr being a collection of my insights on my quest to understand the ancestors, I hope to once again bring OUR history and faith back to the forefront of the European mind
Just as the Mythological Mimis Brunnr nourished the roots of the glorious Yggdrasil, I hope in a small way this Mimirs Brunnr will help nourish the roots of my folk, so we can once again bloom in a manner befitting of our ancient names.
To learn of our forebears is to learn of ourselves.
